Market Challenge
Global demand for wood products is massive and growing rapidly. In Kenya alone, wood product markets are worth nearly $1 billion. With increasing population and urbanization, people are building more houses, erecting more electricity poles, and using more firewood and charcoal. Supply cannot keep up with demand; there are simply not enough trees in the country.
A growing supply deficit is inciting illegal deforestation across Africa and causing incredible environmental destruction.
Our farmers will help solve this critical market challenge. By the end of the decade, we expect to have planted nearly 50 million trees that will produce everything from charcoal and roundwood to high-value electricity poles and lumber. With certified sustainable products, we plan to meet growing market demand around the world.
